Why Teach at Rochester Academy of Music?
We have only part-time positions available. No full-time opportunities. We are looking for friendly, motivated, punctual instructors who can devote at least four hours per week, for at least 12 consecutive months. We're open seven days a week. You pick your days and hours. Location: 3169 Wellner Drive NE, Suite C, Rochester and some optional in-home lessons.
1) You will never have to collect tuition.
This is huge, as every home teacher knows what it's like to get stiffed on tuition. Even if it's late, most teachers are non-confrontational artists who hate having to ask their clients for money.
If you teach for us, you'll never have to ask a client, "Did you bring your money today?" Our Office only accepts electronic tuition. Teachers are never involved with these transactions.
2) If the student doesn't show, you still get paid.
If you've taught for any length of time, you know how bad it feels when a student goes AWOL and their tuition has not been collected. This is one of the strongest incentives for you to teach with us. Even if the Academy gets cheated (sometimes we do, as the credit card will come back declined or the check will be Insufficient Funds), you still get paid for the lesson you invoice us, because you showed up and were scheduled to do the job!
3) We offer competitive pay with opportunities for increases based on retention and professionalism.
4) We protect your privacy and never give out your contact info.
You probably know that some clients can be pushy, and will call you at the last minute to cancel, or possibly give you a hard time. The Academy was designed to take care of you, the teacher. A big way we take care of you is to respect your privacy and act as a buffer between you and the client. If a client wants to talk to you outside of their normal weekly lesson, we have you call them from the office phone.
5) A helpful office staff
There will always be someone in the Office you can refer clients to if they have a question. The Office will do all your scheduling and answer client questions.
6) We mail-order any materials or books you recommend to your students
For your convenience, we mail-order on-demand. Parents enjoy not having to hassle with finding music books, and you will, too. You enjoy a 20% discount on any materials you order for yourself!
7) A full-time marketing department
If you are teaching on your own, what happens if half of your students quit? At Rochester Academy of Music, we have a full-time marketing department for you. Plus, you will never have to market for the academy. We will keep your studios full as long as you do a good job with the students you get.
8) Opportunities to earn extra cash by subbing for other teachers
During the summer and throughout the year, you can earn additional income by subbing for other faculty members.
We are always looking for friendly, reliable teachers with a passion for working with young people. We teach piano, voice, guitar, strings and percussion. These are part-time positions. No full-time.
